The Sofi Awards, formerly known as the NASFT Product Awards, have honored the most outstanding specialty foods since 1972.
At the beginning, only two awards were given: Outstanding Domestic Product and Outstanding Imported Product. At that time, much of the specialty food on the market came from Europe and there was a distinct Continental flair to the Fancy Food Show and the Awards.
Today, the Sofi Awards represent culinary creativity across America and around the globe. The Finalists are selected at the Specialty Food Association offices in New York City by a national panel of specialty food retailers, food-service professionals, and journalists.

Maya Kaimal Sweet Chili Chickpea Chips
This is a highly innovative snack!. We took an authentic South Indian chickpea and rice snack called murukku and re-engineered it into a chip with a light and crispy bite. It took us a year of development and over 100 trial batches on a special chilled press to achieve the perfect crunchy texture. We season the dough with asafetida (spice) and cayenne, and dust the surface with a seasoning that reminds us of our favorite Thai dipping sauce. The result is a unique, zesty, addictive flavor. These chips are gluten-free, kosher, vegan, and have just passed non-GMO project verification.
Castillo de Canena Smoked Arbequina Olive Oil
This exceptional smoked oil is produced by slowly infusing the high-quality Castillo arbequina oil with naturally produced smoke from a mix of oak, beech and birch wood, which impart their unique characteristics into the oil. The equipment required to smoke the oil was designed and built specifically for this task, allowing a rich and dense cooled smoke to infuse into the oil over a six-hour period.
Sir Kensington’s Special Sauce
Reminiscent of a traditional French remoulade and approachably nostalgic, Sir Kensington’s Special Sauce is the perfect topping to dress up a classic hamburger. A touch of paprika, a dash of mustard, and the crunch of pickles deliver roadside flavor with farm stand ingredients.

Pipcorn is delicious mini popcorn launched by brother and sister, Jen and Jeff Martin. Popped in small batches and seasoned by hand in New York City, we take the utmost care to make sure Pipcorn can be shared by the masses, which is why we are whole grain and gluten-free certified, in addition to being vegan and non-GMO.
Fat Toad Farms Caramel Sauce
Crafted on our small family farm with fresh milk from our own herd of beautiful dairy goats, this all-natural goat’s milk caramel sauce is hand-stirred to perfection in copper kettles. We never use artificial ingredients, preservatives, or stabilizers–just pure cane sugar and milk so fresh you can almost taste the green grass our goats graze on.
