Always delicious and at a nice price, here are the wines we’re featuring for November:

Couly Dutheil
Rose, France

This is the perfect Thanksgiving wine. You will always find a rose on my Thanksgiving table and for the past 3 years this wine has been on that table. Couly Dutheil is one of the great vineyards in Chinon. They have been around since the 1930s and from the beginning they have been known for making the best of the best. They farm over 90 hectares of vineyard land, the most by anyone in Chinon. The region is world famous for their cabernet franc. Their rose is fresh and dry, loaded with bright red cherries and strawberries. Great acidity and a refreshing finale. Delicious!  Perfect to enjoy all year round!

Domaine Cheysson L’Exception
Chardonnay, France

Beaujolais is known for gamay, it is their king, but it’s not the only grape. Beaujolais is in the most southern region of Burgundy where pinot noir and chardonnay rule the land. In Beaujolais there is a teeny, tiny amount of chardonnay grown. The Cru Village of Chiroubles has one vine producing chardonnay in the whole village. Domaine Cheysson had a vine many years ago and it made beautiful chardonnay, but after it become too old they yanked up the vine to replant the more profitable gamay. About ten years ago after dreaming of the wine, they decided to replanted the same clone. Rounded and fruity, the wine is full of juicy white peach and apricots with a brilliant finish that keeps you coming back for more.

King’s Ridge
Pinot Noir, Oregon

Kings Ridge is one of the wines from Union Wine Co. in Oregon. Ryan Harms started the company in 2005 to prove wine in Oregon didn’t need to take the bank. These are wines that are made for friends to drink together, families to celebrate with, or for you to curl up with a good book. Kings Ridge wines come from the only place their unique flavors can be found, in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Their pinot noir perfectly reflect the greatness of the area. The medium bodied wine is full of cherry, licorice and earth that floats over silky tannins and last long into the night.

They really feel it is their life’s work to bring back a promadence to Azay-le-Rideau. The wines of Domaine des Hauts Baigneux are all produced with natural yeast and bottled with minimal intervention. The cuvé Les Pentes is a delicious vins de soil that shows off the best of this small Loire village. This cabernet franc, gamay grolleau is juicy, with a mouthful of fruit and a touch of acidity to be enjoyed young. This is going to be amazing on your Thanksgiving table.
