Qupe: A Modern Red ’13 (Regularly $15.99, Sale Price $12.99)
We are big fans of Qupe here at Pembys. One of the original Rhône Rangers, Bob Lindquist makes exciting terrior driven wines from California’s Central Coast. This wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre…with the cool climate Syrah dominating the three. The wine is rich with berry fruit and spicy black pepper. The finish has subtle accents of fresh herbs and a lingering complexity. A go to wine for those who demand quality at a reasonable price.
Valdo Brut Prosecco NV (Regularly $14.99, Sale Price $11.99)
100% Glera. This Prosecco is crafted from the Glera grape. Never heard of Glera? That’s because, until 2009 the grape and the region had the same name: Prosecco. A yummy bubbly lightly perfumed with floral and pear notes. The plate has subtle yellow apples, apricots, and ripe pear flavors. The finish is crisp and slightly yeasty.
Les Costieres De Pomerols, Le Montalus Blanc ’14 (Regularly $11.99, Sale Price $9.99)
50% Colombard, 50% Terret. This white wine hails from the sun-kissed Languedoc region of Southern France. The color is pale gold – with a vibrantly aromatic nose stemming from the Colombard. It’s clean with aromas of melon, white flowers, and tropical fruit. The body is light with notes of crisp green apples, honeydew, and lemon peel. Great example of value wine from this region.
