2013 Perla Maris Verdejo, Rueda, Spain $9.59 (Reg: $11.99): Rueda, Spain brings a lot to the white wine table. Verdejo, the main grape there (100% of this wine) makes a wonderful wine that is aromatic, bright and citrusy but also dense and full flavored. If you’re into the flavor profile of Sauvignon Blanc and would like to try something new, this is the wine for you. Organic.
2014 Jean Luc Colombo Cape Bleue Rosé, Provence, France $10.39 (Reg: $12.99): This rosé? Not serious. Like at all. This is one of the things I love about rosé. It’s not SUPPOSED to be serious. It’s made for easy, pleasurable drinking. JL Colombo makes serious wine in the Rhone valley but his rosé is pure fun. Perfectly pink, well priced, comes with a beautiful label and is delicious. It’s definitely on the fruity/happy end of the spectrum.
2010 Quinta da Lapa “Nana” Reserva, Tejo, Portugal $9.59 (Reg: $11.99): Made with local varieties: Aragones, Castelao and Trincadeira. This is simply a no-brainer. Balanced, fruit forward red wine with hints of plum and vanilla. Drinks beyond its price.
